 RECENT  MATCH SUMMARIES

 Managers End of Season Review:

Well what can I say? The season started off very slow, but was a fantastic challenge for all. It was a first for me, to coach/manage an adults side (despite 75% of my players being under 18), with the blend of experience and youth it took a while to become the team that only lost 1 game in its last 8 games (a fantastic run in). I will say this without the experience of Rob, Jamie, Tom (superman) Mervyn, Fitz, Derek, Jinx and Steve, the team wouldn't have gelled as well as they did, they always provided positive encouragement, which gave the younger boys great confidence.

So would I change anything about last season? NO no way, I'm proud of the boys they did well.

So what's next???? After listening to the boys at presentation night, they want promotion which I have no doubt, that we can achieve, if we can carry the form of the last 8 games into the new season ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

I maybe losing some boys to UNI, but we still have a players to push for promotion, we still have space for a few new players.

End of season awards went to....................

Young Player : Liam Knowles, a work horse in  the centre of midfield, as the season went on he become the play maker of the team, we had our ups and down's. if he wasn't going to UNI I'm sure he would knocking at the door for a first team position.

Managers Player: Morgan Davies, I'm well proud of this players, he gave me nothing short of 200% in every game, he played in every position except goalkeeper, and did he best in every position.

Well that leaves just one award (Players Player)

Players Player : Jamie Davies, this player is the best defender I have every seen, and funny to boot, not only can he make big clearances with his feet, but with his head, butt, shoulder, knee, you name it he will use it. 95% of the players voted for him.

Well deserved.

Come on you Felinfach!

 Bargod Rangers 2 v Felinfach 2

Felinfach Reserves completed their league campaign with an excellent away point to maintain their fine end of season form (1 loss in their last 7 games). The boys travelled down to Bargod hoping that they would leapfrog there hosts, the game started very strongly with Liam K (captain) having a shot straight from kick off, which just went wide of the keepers post, Liam didn't have to wait long for his goal to come with a well taken shot, but Bargod got themselves back into the game by scoring 2 goals, 1 very well taken goal, with only 5 mins left, the boys latched onto a quickly taken throw in and with some quick passing to Nessim who slotted the ball past the Bargod keeper. Manager David Miles said "The Boys played well against a very strong Bargod team" he gave his man of the match award to Sean Teddy Thomas, " outstanding performance, he kept us in the game with some outstanding goalkeeping well done boy"

 Felinfach 1 v Pencader 0

Felinfach Reserves came out winners in this closely contested affair after a Merfyn Davies penalty mid way through the second half saw them edge home 1-0. Man of the match Liam Knowles got the penalty after being bundled over in the area as he was about to strike home.

 Felinfach 2 v Ffostrasol 0

Felinfach Reserves came out comfortable winners against visitors Ffostrasol Reserves and perhaps should have made the final scoreline even more emphatic than 2-0. The fact that the Felinfach pitch was again very heavy down the centre perhaps didnt help but Felinfach will no doubt be pleased to get back on the winning trail again.

The first goal came through an own goal by Ffostrasol with the second coming after good work down the wing by Liam Jones as crossed in for striker Martyn Lloyd to bundle it in at the far post.

An all round good performance by the team with the Man of the Match this week given to the ever improving youngster Haydn Green playing his first season with the club. Manager David Miles will be hoping it can continue next week in their early KO game in Bargod.

Lampeter Youth 2 v Felinfach Youth 10

Felinfach Youth got through to the semi finals of the CWFA Youth Cup after an exhilarating performance against local rivals Lampeter Town in the Quarter Finals

Despite most of the players having played only 24 hours beforehand for the senior teams, Felinfach soon got into their stride and raced into a 3-0 lead after 30 minutes with goals from Nessim Aroussi and James Timmis. The match was then effectively over after Lampeter were forced to take their goalkeeper off with a knee injury and did not have any substitutes available to take his place. Felinfach then settled fully into their rhythm and came in at half time 5- 0 up after further goals from Nessim Aroussi and Jamie Owen.

The second half continued in the same way with Lyn Jones in particular playing some wonderful through balls for the strikers to run on to. Chances were aplenty and more goals from Nessim Aroussi taking his tally to an amazing 6 for the match, Jamie Owen (2 on the day) and finally a fine effort from goalkeeper Sean "Teddy" Thomas who swopped shirts with Jamie Owen in the final 10 minutes capped a fine afternoon for the youngsters. The Lampeter school corridors will be echoing to the sounds of "Felinfach, Felinfach, Felinfach!" for the next few days at least!!

Squad: Denzil Davies (capt), Jordan Walker (vice capt), Nessim Aroussi, Jonnie Davies, James Davies, Morgan Davies, Haydn Green, Lyn Jones, Liam "LK" Knowles, Martyn Lloyd, Jamie Owen, William Roberts, Sean Thomas, James Timmis (unavailable: Liam "LJ " Jones, Gethin Jones)

 24/1/10 Felinfach Res 3 v Lampeter Res 6

Felinfach put in a much improved performance against local rival Lampeter Reserves in this nine goal encounter. Felinfach shocked their visitors by going 2-0 up but an injury to the impressive Tom Knowles meant they lost their rhythm and Lampeter got back to 3-3 with 20 minutes remaining. The Felinfach youngsters then understandably tired and eventually went down by 6 goals to 3. The Felinfach scorers on the day were Merfyn Davies, Richy Lance (who both got their 1st goals of the season) and in form striker Martyn Lloyd. Overall this was a very encouraging performance with a number of players now beginning to force their way into the reckoning for selection.

 12/12/09 Llanybydder Res 12 v Felinfach Res 1

The lack of match action in recent weeks clearly had an affect on this game where Felinfach never really got started against a strong Llanybydder side. Best to move on to the next game we think!

 30/10/09 Felinfach Res 1 v Crannog Res 3

A much improved performance from the Reserves saw them eventually go down by 3 goals to 1 against a strong Crannog side. Keen to bounce back after the poor showing against Lampeter Reserves the week before, Felinfach did work hard and another day may have got more of a reward for their efforts. Captain Denzil Davies was the Felinfach scorer with his first strike of the season.  .

23/10/09 Lampeter Res 5 v Felinfach Res 1

The Reserves played their 1st game of the season under floodlights against local rivals Lampeter and came up against a solid and well organised home team. Faced with having to re-organise the side from the previous weeks victory, Felinfach never really got going and went down to a 5-1 defeat with young striker Martyn Lloyd again getting on the teamsheet. It will be interesting to see if they can immediately bounce back in time for next weeks home game against Crannog Reserves.

  17/10/09 Felinfach Res 6 v Aberporth Res 1

Wow! Felinfach Reserves picked up from where they left off last week with a 6-1 thumping of Aberporth Reserves. They even came back from a goal down to go into half time at 2-1 thanks to goals from left winger Steve James and 16 year old striker Martyn Lloyd who netted his 1st ever senior team goal! Further goals in the 2nd half from Richard Brennan (2) and one more each from Martyn Lloyd and Steve James saw them complete another fine all round team performance with this weeks man of the match going to Martyn Lloyd for his well taken first ever senior team goals.

The only downside was a serious injury to Nessim Aroussi who had to be taken to hospital with broken and damaged shoulder ligaments. He is likely to be out of action for between 6 and 12 weeks.

We Wish him a speedy recovery.

  10/10/09 Felinfach Res 5 v SDUC Res 1

Well done lads! Dave Miles and his team got their first win of the campaign with a thumping 5-1 win against SDUC. Nessim Aroussi got his 1st ever senior team hat trick while Liam "LK" Knowles got his second in as many weeks with Richard Brennan also netting his first of the season to make up the nap hand! A very encouraging performance by everyone capped by a fine Man of the Match performance from capain Denzil Davies.

3/10/09 Pencader Res 7 v Felinfach Res 2

Despite the scoreline, the Reserves were well in this game until the last 20 minutes after which they tired quickly. Nevertheless penalties from Nessim Aroussi and Liam Knowles meant they finally got on the scoresheet and will stand them in good stead over the next couple of weeks when they hope they will be re-inforced by the return of more experienced players. Men of the match for Felinfach were 16 year olds William Roberts and Morgan Davies.

26/9/09 Felinfach Res 0 v Bargod Res 4

The Reserves battled hard in this tie despite only having 10 men through late withdrawals that affected both of the senior squads this weekend. They never gave up battling despite missing key players Rob Jones and vice captain Jordan Walker who had been drafted into the 1st team and hopefully will find an improvement in the next few weeks once players become available again. Man of the Match for Felinfach was Martyn Lloyd who never gave up running all afternoon.

 19/9/09 Felinfach Res 0 v Llanybydder Res 5

Felinfach Reserves played their 1st home game of the season against a strong Llanybydder Reserves side but rarely troubled the visitors before eventually going down by 5 goals to nil. Nevertheless if was good to see a 16 man squad available for this game and augers well for the season ahead. Man of the Match was Jordan Walker who put in a tremendous amount of work in the heart of the side.

5/9/09 Maesglas III 5 v Felinfach Res 2

Felinfach Reserves played their 1st game since 2005 and gave a good account of themselves against a very experienced Maesglas side. Despite trailing by 5-0 at at half time they rallied exceptionally well in the 2nd half with goals from James Timmis and Jordan Walker who both netted their 1st ever senior team goals following their move up from the last years Under 17's team. This was a very young team who with time will only improve once the squad is allowed to settle.
